Rachael Mia Allen was Born in Truro, Cornwall in 1974 she studied at Falmouth School of Art and Design, it was precious period of time for her, for the first time in her life she felt like she belonged, she was in the right place with the right people and she flourished in this creative environment. 

Growing up in Cornwall has fuelled her inspiration & her passion for the cornish landscape that is self-evident in her paintings, which are rich with natural light, textures & colours.

There is an edge of expressionism a spontaneity with marks, gestures, that brings drama sensation that expands beyond two dimensional limits, but there’s also a subtlety there, it’s like a signature of Rachael’s style, her personality in painting the landscape that surrounds her. It is intrinsically her, more than an ‘ism’ Rachael is an artist who has a strong visual language that clearly identifies that in her paintings. 

‘I feel a deep connection to the landscape, the sea, and the turning seasons, which is reflected in the work I create. My paintings express a sense of space and time – the sunlight reflecting off the calm sea, the winter clouds hanging heavy on the horizon, the glow of a sunset as it finds its way through the trees, the crash of waves on a stormy coast. Naturally, I draw my inspiration from my surroundings and my emotional response to the landscape, resulting in a remarkably rich palette and pieces which are densely textured. My collectors often choose my work based on their heartfelt reaction to a piece, bringing that emotional connection to the land and sea full circle’
